All We Can Do Is Trust

All We Can Do Is Trust is the story of Tia and Jule, two asexual (ace) life partners, who assemble an audience in a theatre, and using stories, poetry and a quirky PowerPoint, teach them about ace love – then ask of them an act of allyship.

All We Can Do Is Trust was originally written in English by hearing playwright Kelsi James (via Arts Club’s LEAP program in 2022), and then translated into ASL by Sage Lovell. This production is performed wholly in ASL, with English voice-over with Deaf actors Sage Lovell and Gaitre Persaud.

We express our deep gratitude to everyone who has supported this show and made this production possible, particularly:

Ali Joy Richardson, Lea Dally, LEAP/Arts Club (Shawn Macdonald, Veronique West + Anahita Monfared, Joy Gong, Alex Dayson), Deer Lake AiR (City of Burnaby/Shadbolt), Vancouver Pride, IndieFest 2022 (re:Naissance Opera), Sarv Star, Pat Park, Brenda Carmichael, Gail Benin, Ivy Charles, Joylyn Secunda, Jack Monty Kennedy, Michael Derworiz, Evan James, Canan Sardar, Canada Council For The Arts
