What is Music?
Friday, March 7th, 2025
5 PM to 6 PM
Live at Backstage Theatre lobby
FREE - no ticket required
This interactive panel, led by Cai Glover and Juan Jaramillo, invites participants into a meaningful dialogue about what music represents from a Deaf perspective. Through open conversation and shared experiences, the discussion will explore how music goes beyondsound—becoming a multi-sensory, cultural, and emotional experience through vibration, movement, rhythm, and visual storytelling.
The workshop aims to challenge traditional perceptions of music and highlight the creativity, resilience, and rich cultural identity of the Deaf community. Panelists will share their personal journeys, artistic expressions, and the unique ways they connect with music, fostering a deeper understanding of inclusivity and accessibility in the arts.
Perfect for artists, performers, and anyone interested in exploring how music can be felt, seen, and expressed in ways that transcend sound.
