Following their smash hit at last year’s festival, Our Life in Guyana, in this new comedic adventure we follow up with the elder Natasha as she receives a visit from her niece who brings with her some rather unexpected presents.

CAST
Natasha Bacchus
I am Natasha Cecily Bacchus. I am an athlete and performing artist, passionate about deaf advocacy, fitness and physical expression.
Throughout my life, I have nurtured my passion for fitness competing as a professional athlete and securing medal positions in the Deaf Olympics, Pan Am Olympics and many other competitive sporting events.
As an actress, I have participated in numerous theatre and film productions and have a strong desire to continue to grow and develop as a performing artist, expanding representation to include differently-abled persons and empowering Black Deaf women in Canada to shine on and off the stage.
Jaideep Goray
Jaideep is an Indian-born Canadian who is gay and Deaf. He has acted in the theatre a few times in India. He had been involved in the stage performances with MDL CHLD, Deaf Spectrum, Buddies in Bad Times. He also does story telling of Indian folk tales in ASL for moral education for kids as well as adults.
Gaitrie Persaud
Growing up as a Deaf Guyanese/Canadian, Gaitrie always had a passion for music & theatre performance. She believes you don't have to be hearing to enjoy music - music is already within you, it is the natural rhythm of our being. Her close-knit family influenced her relationship with music; she & her hard-of-hearing brother would attend family gatherings with traditional music & dance. They would sign the lyrics & move to the bass, feeling it within their bodies.
As an artist, she has worked with multiple hearing performers creating accessible performances, recently alongside Rosina Kazi of LAL, Christopher Corsini of MDL CHLD (live showcases) and collaborating with an Australian Musician to create Accessible Videos. She is gaining popularity and has been recognized as the top emerging Deaf musician in Canada. Creatively translating lyrics into accessible movement, spoke at Montreal’s POP Music Festival alongside panelist/activist Deaf Rapper Matt Maxey of Deafinitely Dope.
Gaitrie breathes for theatre. Acting is her passion that she lives for. She has been involved with different theatres for almost 8 years. She has been in different theatre performances that helps her to discover her new talents. She has been involved in a big play "The Two Natashas: Our life in Guyana" with her co actor Natasha Bacchus. She is currently studying to become an acting instructor.
She owns her own company which is called PHOENIX THE FIRE. It is a Theatre Hub for DEAF IBPOC ARTISTIC COMMUNITY. And also, She owns a talk show “Be Enchante or Be Impotent”, she provides sex education for the Deaf community.

Alexandra Hickox - Videographer
Alexa is a Deaf artist who works with both still and moving images. She graduated from Ontario College Arts and Design University and she was recently awarded her Masters Degree with Distinction in Film Production at York University.
Alexa works within her community to produce, stories that explore the diversity, nuances and particularities of Deaf lived experiences. She is currently developing a community online platform called Undivided were Deaf artists create short films.
In 20020 as the stage manager and video producer for Deaf Spirit Theatre she produced a film for the Toronto Film Festival called Thea’s Zoom Adventure, an online play for children. Alexa is working remotely as an editor for Melmira, producing social media for this Deaf US based Deaf advocate. She is in collaboration with Chris Corsini and just released the music video MaMa that incorporate sign language with modern dance. Alexa has worked with John Greyson, as both an actor and photographer assistant for Jericho/Bagdad.
